Kamran Nikseresht DDS,FAGD "Dr. Nik"

You know you're in good hands when you discover your dentist is also the dentist for numerous dentists, physicians, and their families. Such is the case for patients of Dr. Kamran Nikseresht known as "Dr. Nik".
"Top Dentist" recognition by northern Virginia magazine as "voted by peers" and by consumers research counsel of America may initially prompt families to visit Dr. Nik, yet his professional, quality care and his positive personality is what causes patients to return. Never rushing, Dr. Nik and entire staff make it a priority to truly listen to patients and understand their concerns, while providing preventative, restorative, and aesthetic care.
Dr. Nik graduated with honors from West Virginia University School of Dentistry receiving a doctorate of dental surgery (DDS) in 1998, and in 2007 he was awarded the prestigious fellowship (FAGD) from the Academy of General dentistry. As a recipient of this award, Dr. Nik joined an elite group of dentists (which account for about 7% of dentists) who understand that great smiles and optimal oral health for their patients are the result of going above and beyond basic requirements. The fellowship award symbolizes excellence in the dental profession, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care. "This is an outstanding accomplishment for Dr. Nik" says AGD president Vincent Mayher, DMD, MAGD. "By completing the rigorous requirements to become a fellow, Dr. Nik goes above and beyond basic licensure requirements in his state to keep his practice on the cutting edge". Dr. Nik is the recipient of numerous awards, and is presently a member of the following organization: American Dental Association (ADA), Northern Virginia Dental Society (NVDS),Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), American Academy of Implant Dentistry,(AAID)United States Dental Institute (USDI).

Dr. Nik enjoys all aspects of dentistry and provides a wide range of dental treatments including implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics (conventional and invisalign), endodontics (root canals), oral surgery and restorative dentistry. His hobbies include most outdoor activities, skiing, water sports, hiking and reading.

Catherine Akbarieh DDS

Dr. Catherine Akbarieh has studied at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where she majored in Physiology, then graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1997. She has been in private practice since that time in Vancouver, Ottawa and Montreal, where she designed and operated her own dental office till her move to the USA in 2004. She has practiced general dentistry with an emphasis on preventive, cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Her dental and continuing education has focused on a comprehensive approach to health, and has involved a strong component in nutrition and physical fitness. Her personal health experiences as well as those of her patients have inspired her to integrate more complimentary, conservative and natural modes of treatment into her practice, taking into consideration the importance of all factors contributing to health and wellness, including stress, nutrition and prevention. Her love of connecting the points between oral health and general health led her to explore her passion of using food and meditation as medicine. In 2009, she completed an intensive program in Integrative Nutrition through the SUNY Purchase College in New York, and is now certified as a Holistic Health and Nutrition Counselor.

Dr. Akbarieh’s message to her clients and friends:  “Your Oral Health is at the Heart of your Overall Health” and your overall health begins with what’s going on in your mouth. Ancient physicians and dentists attributed great importance to ailments of the mouth, which they believed contributed to systemic illness, and modern-day science has proven those beliefs. Just as the eyes are the windows to the soul, the mouth is the window to the rest of the body. She combines an exceptional education and years of clinical experience, with a gentle hand and a dedication for helping patients achieve a healthy and beautiful smile. She believes that a healthy, happy smile is the result of the union between science, art, awareness, and commitment to prevention.  She is trilingual in English, French and Farsi.
